About PAMS

My name is Larry Lechner and, operating primarily as Delphic Productions, I have provided project development, infrastructure design, building and on-site conservation services for more than 30 years. Fourteen years ago, I made a decision to focus my expertise and dedicate my energies to conserving our ever-vanishing natural systems. I now engage in a number of planning, design, building, training and project development activities with numerous partners and associates. My work sites and clients are wide ranging. I believe in establishing local partnerships whenever possible and conducting all work in local languages. I speak English, Spanish and Portuguese and have developed materials in all three languages. All of my conservation activities are now operating under the management of Protected Area Management Services. My primary areas of expertise are:

our guiding philosophy

Meaningful conservation and true sustainability cannot be achieved by science or policy alone. Stewardship, the key to both conservation and sustainability, depends upon our hearts and ethical beliefs to inform both our science and politics.

Conservation Planning and Project Development
I have worked on projects for the World Bank, United Nations, USAID, US Forest Service, and for many foreign governments, non-governmental organizations and local communities. Projects range from small, site-specific habitat conservation to national protected area systems, infrastructure, and information management systems for protected areas and community involvement.

Project Monitoring and Evaluation
Working with a number of international agencies and organizations, I have evaluated proposals and on-going projects, and conducted environmental monitoring of conservation, development and oil and gas projects throughout the world.

Training and Teaching
I have worked with a number of organizations to provide on-site training, curricula development, training-the-trainer programs and technical assistance for infrastructure development, trail design and construction, visitor management, conservation planning, and karst and cave management.
